日本語の音楽を聞く

 


Lately, I have trying to listen to more Japanese music! I used to listen to Japanese music more often a few years ago, so I still have a playlist on Spotify! My favorite artist is Anri, and she mostly sings Japanese city pop. What I really like about Anri is that her songs are very romantic and relaxing. I feel that I can put them on while I relax or drive. Listening to her helps me listen and learn the Japanese pronunciation. She sings her words very well, so I can recognize the ~te form, ~tai form, and vocabulary words!

 The Japan-related video that I chose to watch was a video on Japanese etiquette. Unfortunately, many of the educational videos on this topic were in English since they were catered towards tourists visiting Japan. However, I believe that I was able to still take away great value from this video.  I learned about etiquette in public places as well as interpersonal interactions. As for public places, I was able to understand the value of collectivism of the Japanese society. One must not talk too loud on the phone on the train or must go somewhere private to blow their nose. These actions are all done in consideration of other people, even if it may put you at an inconvenience. I think that these etiquette rules also tie into the value of respect, which can be seen in interpersonal interactions such as repeatedly bowing or not leaving tips as restaurants.
